Verbal Release Therapy

Verbal Release Therapy
  • I’m in a whole world of pain this week.  A flare has come in and taken over my body and I’m just struggling to get through the days.  Thank goodness for bed and pain medication.  I hate the two weeks around my period.
  • Movies that have super low dialogue and super loud music. Gah.
  • The fact that I have to put all the little projects I like to do away until I recover a bit.
  • I need brain activity in order to come up with things to write, and that brain activity is a bit stunted today…
  • I’m counting down the days for Florida, although I hope I feel a bit better for the travel days!
  • Glucerna is a helpful thing to have in one’s fridge when not feeling well. Fun tip.
  • My lips are so dry this time of year even though I slather them with lip balm.
  • I know I should quit sugar, but it seems like such an impossible task when my diet is so limited with Celiac Disease, Lactose Intolerance, and Gastroparesis…
  • A long-time friend through twitter passed away…she was a great support to me, and her death is devastating.  She was a true warrior.

No one seems to realize how this illness destroys one’s entire body…

Yes please.

How are all of my beloved readers doing this week?  Feel free to have a bit of a grump fest to me in the comments…I love feeling not alone in this struggle.  Sending sunshine and healing thoughts to each and every one of you!

xoxo,

Annie

  1. Ugh, yes, I sympathize with you today. Thankfully I’m not going through so much of a pain flare (although I’ve had some bad ones recently, so I can relate) but I’m just feeling pretty awful today all-around. And, like you, I have some projects I really want to work on!

I always enjoy the photos and memes you post, and I found the first one (the joys of CFS/ME) very interesting. I’ve been insisting my hair is falling out/thinning for the last few years and no one seems to believe me/see it, so it was very validating to read it on their list of symptoms. I’m not going crazy! :)

  2. I’m sorry to read about you friend, those little bursts of support in a tweet can be so valuable. Maybe, when you are ready, you could write about your friend and what she/he shared with you. I think you can be sad and thankful at the same time.

My gripes are small this week:

Period pain waking me in the night, even bursting in on my heavy drug-induced sleep.
Annoyed at myself for forgetting things and letting people down.
My favourite show ending and they won’t be making another series.
Worrying about money (not that worrying does anything except hinder).

It has been the most beautiful day here, with pillowy white clouds and gentle sunshine, with the plants looking happier after a big drink.

  3. Thanks Mo, it does indeed suck. I hope you are well!

Sarah, if there is one thing I’ve learned from my 14 years of going to doctor after doctor – it’s that no matter what they can’t be possible with this illness…it’s still possible and other people will have it. No craziness involved, as much as they try to convince us otherwise.

Sandy, my period pain does the same to me, no matter how many drugs I’m on. I’m sure the Endo doesn’t help that either. What was your fave show?
