Last Day With My Sister…

Last Day With My Sister…

It’s the last day that my sister is home for the summer.  Tomorrow, her and my mother head off to Newfoundland so that she can continue studying medicine at Memorial University.  I’m going to miss her sooooooooo much!  It’s always been nice to have a sister so close in age (she’s 18 months younger than I am…), and it’s neat that we both have the same color hair, which we’ve never seen on anyone else in our lives!  She is one of those people that just lights up your life.  I won’t see her again until Christmas!  For all I know, it might be the last time that she comes home for the summer to work as a pharmacist at the hospital with my mother.  She’ll probably go travel the world again.  Oh how I wish I could travel the world!!  As much as I miss my old home with my ex, I still enjoyed spending the summer in my parents’ home with my sister for the first time in about 8 years!

I hope that I get to go to St. John’s sometime in the next couple of years for a visit.  I’ve never been, and I think it would be fun to embrace the Newfoundland way of life for a little while.  Apparently they are quite good to those with Celiac disease, as she told me they had a burger place with gluten-free buns!  Plus, they are some of the friendliest people around, as all we Islanders are!

I seriously hope that their trip goes a lot better than the trip that my sister had to get here.  My fingers are crossed that there will be no accidents and that they get there safely (and that my mom returns home in the same manner!).  My father and I will have to hold down the fort.  We both tend to be less than excited about cooking food, so hopefully we both manage to stay fed the whole time!

It’s going to be so strange to be alone more often again!  Not that I don’t love my alone time, but family is special.  I hope she has an amazing time and that we keep in contact better this year!!

xoxo,

Annie
