Lately, when I need to zone out and relax, I do one of these three things:
Daytime solution (without rain) = laying in the anti-gravity chair on the deck, soaking up a little end of summer weather, and reading one of my many favorite magazines (yesterday’s being Elle Canada). When I focus on only one thing that I love so much, it allows me to drift into daydream land. A little bit of sun seems to do wonders for my mood, as long as I have lots of skin protection on board! Photosensitivity really puts a damper on the occasion.
I love the interview with Gwyneth, and I think this is their best issue as of late!
Daytime solution (with rain) = curling up in bed with the novel on the go, and either a cup of coffee or tea depending on the hour of day. A nap usually ensues. The Internet is usually there too, because it just wouldn’t feel like a bed party without it!
Nighttime solution = Fishdom HD and my iPod on shuffle. This is my current pick – a match 3 game with a twist, where beating levels gives you money to purchase things to decorate your computerized fish tank! With music playing in my ears, I can focus only on matching, and my brain gets lulled to a snail’s pace. If only I could spend most of the day doing that without feeling guilty, because my brain really needs to stop being such a pain in my behind!
I played this the majority of the last few nights when I couldn’t sleep!
What are some of your favorite pop culture ways to calm down an anxiety-filled mind? I’d love to know, as I don’t think mine is going away any time soon! Share!
xoxo,
Annie
